I do not believe that there will be a resurgence of capitalism. I do not believe there will be a moral renaissance, at least in the short term. I do not believe there will be an age of enlightenment as the New Age philosophy describes. I believe we have ten to fifteen years before the return of Christ and the establishing of His government upon the earth.
I believe that with the election of Obama as President of the United States we crossed a line on an already downward slippery slope for many reasons. If McCain had been elected, the trip down the slippery slope may have been slowed although only slightly. But we have crossed the line of no return.
Here is my prediction:
In 2010 the conservatives will show resurgence in the political climate, but only enough to scare the liberals now controlling the government and influencing society. Rather than risk losing power, those in power will take drastic steps to radically change the government so they can continue to control and influence society. There will be no future Presidential election and the radical change in government will establish a dictator, a king of the United States of America. This king will lead our nation into a world government, or at least a government that rules over a greater portion of the world, such as Europe and like cultures, the Western World. This will lead to some turmoil from which a leader will emerge who will try to rule the world, and will rule the Western World. There will be a period of time where this leader will lead the Western World to peace, and then it will turn sour and war will ensue. The final war will be Armageddon after which Christ will return and establish His kingdom on earth.
Conservatism, patriotism, capitalism, Marxism, Communism, education, socialism, nor any other human endeavor will allow a person to survive. Those who go along with the radical change in the world will survive for a while. Those who hold fast to Jesus, the Christ and the King of kings will ultimately survive. It will be a choice every person will have to make.

You're giving yourself way too much wiggle room when you say that Jesus will be back in ten to fifteen years. Biblical scholar Harold Camping isn't afraid to be specific. He says the world will end on May 21, 2011. Are you going to let that guy out predict you? Of course, he also predicted the second coming was going to happen on September 6, 1994. So maybe you're right not to be specific.
You say the United States crossed a line with the election of Obama, don't you think you've crossed a line with your latest post? You're treading into looney territory. Don't go there!
As for your prediction, did Jesus communicate that to you personally or did you figure it out from reading the bible, or did you just pull it out of your butt?
My predictions are based on my study of the Bible (smoking it would not do any good, reading it does), observation of unfolding events, and perhaps a little imagination. God has the final control. Even Jesus didn't know the time and the date. Obviously I am guessing, but it could happen this way. Yes, I think we have crossed the line with Obama's election. If McCain had been elected we still would have crossed the line, but perhaps just a bit later. It is not because of Obama, though I think his policies and those of the left are destructive and even evil, but it is because of the move of society away from God that has caused us to cross the line. I believe we are headed this direction regardless of who is in the White House. It is only looney if the end results are completely afield from the prediction. We will see what happens in the next few years. Crossed a line? We have crossed the line when it was declared by the President that we are no longer a Christian nation. The line is acceptance or rejection of God. I hope I never cross that line. That would be real looney territory!
Politics and God are a combination that can't be separated. God is Righteousness. Politicians are called to be righteous. When they are not righteous, the people suffer the consequences.
